Straightforward design, good architecture.
So you know where you are, and where you’re going.
And enjoy being there.
From content management systems for creative web presences, to literary journals, to online communities, we like the web.
Some recent projects include:
Intro animation for the new site for MUMO, an interior design and furniture company.
The simplicity of the animation reflects the grace and clarity of MUMO.
The home page. (See the print portfolio for execution of the logo design for their stationery.)
Note the links at the bottom—the site is fully functional (both front end and back end) in English and Spanish.
The projects page.
Each project is listed separately and appears as a separate portfolio of images, each with thumbnails & descriptive text.
The projects page, viewed in Spanish.
Note that the navigation, as well as content, are in Spanish.
Clean, straightforward, elegant.
Furniture categories are themselves editable, allowing for flexibility in handling many different kinds of objects.
Within each category there can be any number of objects.
Items (in this case lamps) are re-ordered within the portfolio by simply dragging and dropping the item in the new position (an elegant use of AJAX technology).
The editing interface emulates the layout of the page.
Where values are determined by business rules, clear error messages are presented to the user. Other little tricks make for a seamless user experience.
Design & development of artist’s site.
The artist’s primary medium is video, so we worked with a theme of circles to reflect the circle of a camera lens.
The colors of the home page photograph (by Zazil Barba) are echoed in the navigation colors.
Simple animated rollovers reiterate the theme of the circle.
The lack of textual clues emphasizes the visual primacy & mystery of the artist’s work.
The site was done in xhtml with javascript. Videos (flvs), photographs (jpgs), & audio files (mp3s) were processed for an optimal web experience.
This site was a pleasure to do—a real collaboration with the artist.
The home page for the new site of internationally acclaimed Israeli singer Dudu Fisher.
We partnered with Art of Details to provide a solid site with contact management, and many other features, such as a music & video catalogs, photos galleries, videos gallery, calendar, show booking form, music player, newsletter signup widget, share widget, and other features, some of which are described on the next few pages.
This is the Photos page, showing an image from the current portfolio, below which are thumbnails from this portfolio.
At the right are thumbnails representing all the portfolios in a scrollable menu.
Navigation is clean & simple, with use of opacity on rollovers.
This is the Booking page, which lists shows that are available for booking.
At the right is a contact form specifically for booking requests.
This is a page For the Children.
Dudu Fisher makes CDs and DVDs especially for a young audience, and the For the Children page features a video just for them.
To the right of the video are buttons for viewing the entire catalog of CDs and DVDs for children.
This page lists in catalog fashion items available for preview and sale.
Clicking on an image of an item brings you to a detail view of that item, along with a song list.
A similar approach is used for the Music page.
The site is fully searchable.
Search results are returned, paginated, with clickable links.
Because the site is multi-lingual, I opted to forego keywords and query on fields into which the client is entering data; in this way, if you are looking at the site in Spanish, for example, the application will search all Spanish fields and return results relevant to what you were expecting.
Design & development of site & application for an open community of people interested in art & art research.
Users can join and add content—artists & artworks, art news & research resources.
Application includes content management & contact & admin tools.
The site was built in PHP with MySQL back-end.
The application includes a tool for constructing visual timelines of artworks from user-supplied content using a variety of selection criteria.
Timelines can be saved and edited.
Design & development of site for theatrical company.
Features include a page for the current production, a calendar, etc.
The “documents” page (shown) is a slide show—“documents” can be created, named, saved, & edited by site editors.
The site includes a full, access privilege-protected content & contact management application.
Contact management features include built-in subscription & announcement emailing services, by which an admin can create a press release or other announcement and send it to contacts in the system or sets of contacts.
