We love visual culture. Books, catalogs, stationery, hand-made CD covers, postcards.... Stuff you can feel with your eyes and your hands.

Cover for the exhibition catalog Homenaje a Orozco. 125 aniversario del natalicio, Insituto Cultural Cabañas, Guadalajara, Mexico. The cover features a superimposition of paintings, on top of which is a removable band printed on vellum. Depicted on the band is a map of Guadalajara during Orozco's time. The exhibition had two parts—“Orozco desde el siglo XXI,” a selection of individual works in commemoration of the artist; and “Obra pública. Ruta Orozco,” a series of public works. The cover represents then both parts of the exhibition as a whole—the color cover representing the individual works, and the band representing the public works. (See next slide for cover without the band.)

This is the cover with the band removed. Lush colors evoke Orozco’s sensibility.

The book uses Univers throughout, except for the body text of the catalog essays, which uses Baskerville. The text was set in two columns with a ragged right edge. I love books.

This is a spread featuring works by two different artists. While some spreads feature works by the same artist, I also enjoyed creating some sense of tension or dialog by the juxtaposition of works by different artists.

We did the identity & design, as well as the new website, for Guadalajara-based design company MUMO. Clean, simple, elegant—reflecting the design philosophy of MUMO. Pictured is a business card.

Clean, crisp black on white—well, you won't get this from a jpeg, but what we were aiming at is an ethereal simplicity.

Design & production of PR card for web journal. This was a great project, which allowed for using idiosyncratic & type. This card features an image of Yuri Gagarin—first man in space—from a Soviet matchbox. Four-color offset on white stock.

Design & production of PR bookmark for web journal. This bookmark was produced to coincide with the alchemy issue (tools of the trade illustrated). Black printed on yellow stock.

Given design brief, illustrations, & text, I developed 20 cards to be used by Whole Foods Market staff on the floor. 4-color offset on laminated, hole-punched stock.

I really like these cards. They’re punched to be held on a ring. Info about the seafood is on the back of the card.
